I don't often do commissions, but I'm glad I took this one. It was a good reminder of why children are always painted from photographs.

These Setters attended the Flying Pig Marathon. They appeared to be more interested in the ducks along the Landing. I think they'd rather be running a race of their own.

Florence, Italy, sets the scene for romance, adventure, and earnest conversation. They were either trying to decide which landmark to visit next, or he was telling a really big fish story.

Yesterday was a great day to capture the beginning of fall colors at a retreat outside Loveland, Ohio. It seems that someone always has wash on the line when I visit here.

"Tall Stacks" was in Cincinnati last week. The General Jackson is on of the larger sternwheelers that was steaming up and down the Ohio River during the five day festival.
"Tall Stacks" was in Cincinnati this weekend. After painting and photographing sternwheelers for a few days, I took a break and painted the Licking River, just across from where I was standing. The Licking is the only river that runs north in this country - or so I have been told.
"Tall Stacks" will be in Cincinnati through Sunday. Members of the Cincinnati Art Club will be painting plein air each day in costume. Today I'm going to put a thermal shirt under by high-necked blouse, and STRAP my hat on! I forgot how windy it gets along the River.
The Tyler Davidson Fountain is titled "The Genius of Water." I'm looking forward to spending time on the new Fountain Square. Ice skaters make great subjects.
Howard has been a studio cat for a few days on doctor's orders. It's a bitter pill...

Every Monday should start with a beach. Especially a day like today, when the morning fog is rolling across Cincinnati.

I caught this runner taking a break on Hyde Park Square. Tuesday morning was a great day for a run - a little chilly for painting.
Anyone in Cincinnati will recognize the bridge in the background. Every artist I know has painted the bridge over Twin Lakes in Eden Park. To avoid painting a scene that has been painted so many times, I walked around to the side where I could see the bronze fisher statue. This poor goose has caught a fish, but can't swallow. His neck has been cinched by the fisher, who retrieves the catch of the day.
